Support Meg's Journey to Health

The last three years have been full of hope and gratitude as we have celebrated Meg’s health after her bone marrow transplant in February 2015. Since that time, she has been living life to the fullest; marrying Brian, the love of her life, spending time with friends and family, providing support to others with leukemia, and volunteering as a wish granter for the Make a Wish Foundation. “Every day counts” was a mantra that kept a spirit of optimism alive during her recovery process, and has remained evident in how she continues to approach life with joy and thankfulness in her heart.
The success of Meg’s bone marrow transplant was incredibly reassuring, and it looked promising her good health would continue, however, on July 7th Meg was notified that the leukemia had returned. She has once again started chemotherapy and is giving her all to reclaim her health. The details regarding the condition of her illness and the plan for her treatment are still being determined, and we will send updates as more information is acquired and as she feels comfortable sharing.
The compassion and generosity Meg received during her previous treatment truly is what kept her going during the most difficult times. The kindness she received from so many of you was inspiring and humbling, and we are forever grateful for that support. As Meg begins this journey again we appreciate that many of you would like to reach out to her to express your love, but at this time we ask that you do not contact her directly. Understandably, she is overwhelmed by the shock of this news, and needs some time and space to process it. Though Meg is not ready for direct interactions, she is in need of our love and positivity and we would like to offer this campaign as one way to reach out to her. Fortunately, Meg is blessed with adequate medical insurance and so most hospital bills will be covered, but the funds raised in this campaign will be used for out-of-pocket medical expenses and associated future expenses.
Though trials like these are hard to understand, we know God is mindful of Meg and we trust in His plan and timing. Please keep Meg, her family, and her medical team in your heart and prayers, that they may have peace, strength, and wisdom. We are grateful for the many wonderful people Meg has in her life and for the love and support so generously extended to her. More than ever, let’s come together as a community to show what it means to be MEGstrong.
