Support Meg Day’s Cancer Recovery and Care
Donation protected
We are raising funds for our beloved comrade, educator, and poet for the people, Meg Day.
Last month, during routine screening, Meg was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer that has spread to their lymph nodes. This next week, Meg will have a radical bilateral mastectomy to remove the cancer. In May, Meg will start intensive chemotherapy, followed by radiation.
Meg and Chelsea, who are raising a toddler in the south and have been disproportionately impacted by legislative actions regarding DEI jobs, need our help to offset the financial burden on this long road to recovery. So many of us have been impacted by these two movers and shakers: they have taught us, mentored us, raised us, supported us, cared for us, fed us, and loved us.
Now it’s our turn:
Donations will help support medical bills from hospital stays (scheduled and unscheduled), physical therapy, childcare support during summer chemo, and the already significant loss to expected income from canceled grants and the inability to travel for readings, workshops, and lectures.
We encourage you to share this link with friends, colleagues, comrades, and readers who may want to support Meg and their family. Thank you.
