Hi!

I am Taylor, Meerkat's human. It's my birthday but my girl Meerkat the cat is at the emergency vet today. This is a fundraiser for her emergency visit and testing, so we can spend the rest of my birthday at home together

In late summer, she developed a sneaky kidney infection that gave her stage 3 kidney failure. After 2 months of suspecting an infection and unsuccessfully asking multiple vets for antibiotics, I had to hospitalize her. She pulled through and stabilized remarkably well, despite being left with stage 3 kidney failure as a result. I was left with hospital bills over $4k. My own health has been particularly bad over the last year (and expensive), so I unfortunately don't have anything left.

Although Meer had been relatively stable, 36 hours ago she stopped being able to stomach any food or medication, and has been very, very unwell, with blood in her vomit and stool. I was doing everything I could think of to try and get her comfortable and eating again, but she continued to decline, so I made the decision to take her to the pet ER. I know times are super tight for everyone right now but any (small) amount of help for Meerkat's medical care would be really, really appreciated. thanks + purrs from both of us
