Update: We were notified by the animal hospital this afternoon that Meeko took a turn for the worst today and he is unfortunately no longer with us. This has been devestating for us as his prognosis yesterday was very hopeful. I have stopped asking for donations, and the donations that were already made will go toward paying down the balance of his treatment and cremation. We have already received another donation, since his death, from someone who just wanted to help us pay off his debt and I never expected that or would even ask for that but if you still want to give, all future donations will go to paying off his medical bills that we be paying for quite some time. I wanted to leave this page up for a while to let everyone know, as I know this page is still being shared right now, and to send a big Thank You to all of those that cared enough to try and help, to those who have reached out to us with kind words and to the amazing people who keep donating just to help us climb out of the debt that was incurred during his treatment (I never expected that kind of support and can’t believe there are those of you still willing to help after the fact, it’s beyond words) I can’t express how much that means to us ❤️

Meeko is a one-year-old kitty who is fighting for his life. He is usually very playful, loving, and full of energy. His best friend is a pit-bull terrier named Paco, and the two of them have become co-dependent.

Right now, he has severe anemia that is non-regenerative at this time, presumably from an autoimmune disorder. He has already gone through one blood transfusion (and is currently awaiting his second) and multiple medications, including steroids.

We have been told that it could take a few months before his tiny system reboots and starts regenerating blood cells. Until then, we are doing our best to provide him with the necessary treatment he needs to live, but we have exhausted our funds and need financial help to keep him stable and give him a chance at the rest of his life.
