Discover the Teaser of MEDITATIONS IN TOUCH,
A series of films by Louka Leppard & Cécile Delepière
Meditations in touch is a visual poem
about the unseen world of touch, tenderness and intimacy.
It is a journey from the mountains and landscapes of Mallorca,
and into the garden and home of the bodyworker Louka Leppard.
We travel with his hands, following their movement and rhythm,
immersed in the landscape of the body,
the feelings, sensations and visions of the people
as they are released and realigned.
It is a record of touch as a language and art form
and a reminder of what it is to be cared for and protected.
It is a statement on the importance of loving physical contact
as we enter an age of increased computerisation, mechanisation and separation.
________________
In 2010, Cécile and I made a short and spontaneous film together in Paris about my practice. Since then, it has been on our minds to create a more developed film, weaving the dreamlike qualities of our work together, to remind people about the possibility of healing through conscious touch and tenderness.
We are already in the process of creating what promises to be a unique, captivating and evocative visual art piece, and we are reaching out to our community and beyond to everyone who feels that this is a necessary and worthy project. We are asking for financial help so that we can produce a high quality piece of art and bring it to as many people as possible.
My name is Louka Leppard.
I was born in the south west of England in 1971
and in my early twenties I began practicing bodywork,
Just for the pleasure of it.
Looking back, I see now, that I had an inherent understanding of how to open and realign the body through touch.
It was easy and instinctive;
And over the last 25 years of practice it has become a language of meditation and devotion.
When I sit to practice I am completely absorbed in the moment
searching through sensation:
Spontaneous, creative and free of thought.
I call this practice, Meditation In Touch .
For the past 8 years I have lived out in the countryside of Mallorca.
I'm a bit of a hermit, and the practice of touch is an ephemeral one.
In each treatment I feel myself move, dancing through the landscape of another body and I feel called to share something of that unseen and magical world.
My name is Cécile Delepière.
I was born in 1976 surrounded by the nature of Provence.
As a child, I was a bit of a loner, a dreamer, and always a story teller.
I am at ease in the world of emotion, I trust my feelings,
and as a film-maker , I am interested in telling stories from my heart.
The way I capture on film is the way I sense the world.
Where I lay my eyes, my camera follows in and out of focus;
Close and far; Sensorial, poetic and enchanting.
A dance in time with my breath.
This year, Cécile and I began to work on a new art piece about the language of tenderness and touch, set to an original soundtrack created by Madison Willing , a London based composer, sound artist, music producer, performer and DJ. Working primarily at the intersection of contemporary classical and electronica.
We are very excited about the footage and music we already have and feel that we should invest all of our time and energy in this project, as it is becoming a unique and mesmerising communication of healing.
So far, this project of love has been financed by Louka and Cecile. But we would like to take it further. This is why we are launching our crowdfunding campaign to help us finance part of our independent film, Which includes: planes tickets to and from Mallorca, renting sound and camera equipment, hiring musicians, post-production expenses like editing, coloring, sound mixing and of course marketing, PR expenses and film festivals.
As our team is growing, we would like to pay everyone for their time and talent. Every penny counts, and we would be very grateful for any contribution to our film project - MEDITATIONS IN TOUCH - that you can make.
Thank you from our hearts for spreading the word into your community through your social media.
