Medhansh is being diagnosed with Lukemia Stage 3
This 1 year old needs your support!
Medhansh used to be a very happy and joyful kid. Recently he got very sick, and when brought to a hospital doctors had to make a horrible found: Medhansh is suffering from Leukemia (blood cancer). The cancer has progressed to stage 3 and already affected his kidneys and is spreading to different parts of the body.
About the family
Jonna Venkata Rajendra Babu has 2 kids (Jonna Shrikar (7yrs) & Jonna Medhansh (1 yr)), living in Nizamabad, Telangana, India. He works as a salesman in an electronic & furniture store, earning 15000 INR (212 USD / 190 EUR) per month. His wife Jonna Deepika is taking care of the children and household.
Since the birth of their two kids, Rajendra Babu and Deepika have been paying health insurance. However, the insurance only covers 3 Lakhs INR (4200 USD) and half of the insurance money has already been spent for initial tests and diagnosis in the first 3 days, since Medhansh stayed at the hospital.
The below tests are done:
Blood platelets count
Peripheral Smear
Bone marrow report
Immunophenotyping
The treatment involves the steps below:
Increasing the red platelets - inducing fresh blood.
Chemotherapy (21 day cycle) for 6 months.
Oral tablets - 2 years
Based on the response the Medhansh shows, the treatment will be prolonged or shortened.
If Medhansh doesn’t respond then the final step would be to undergo bone marrow transplantation.
According to Doctors around 80% of people will be cured before the last step and 20 % cannot and have to go through the transplantation with low chances of survival at that stage.
While the 1st cycle of chemotherapy treatment can be covered by insurance, the following bills are still uncovered:
Treatment might take up to 6 months (providing best chances for healing). If the condition is to progress further the treatment would involve bone marrow transplantations.
Replacement of blood platelets in a step-by-step approach.
As current platelets’ count is very low, to increase the levels Medhansh needs to stay under strict observation and treatment at the intensive care unit.
Doctors are suspecting that his kidneys are also affected which needs special attention and diagnosis procedure.
The condition of the boy needs to be prepared and ready in the case of short notice bone marrow transplantations.
As long as the kid responds to the treatment he has to continue with medication.
The parents were asked to stay close to the hospital in Hyderabad until they know more about the situation and as the kid has to go through continuous treatment.
The whole procedure for treatment and diagnosis costs approximately 45 Lakhs INR (63000 USD / 57000 EUR)
The treatment starts tomorrow and the kid will be treated on a step by step process as mentioned above.
just for the treatment and Chemotherapy it might cost upto 20 Lakhs (21,200 USD / 25400 EUR) and if the situation is critical the cost for bone marrow transplantation might be upto 25 Lakhs (28,200 USD / 31700 EUR).
We will provide all the receipts of the costs spent for the treatment and diagnosis, and if any money is left we will transfer the money to any person who is in need of funds for medical treatments and we will show the proofs of it.
We have attached all the reports to this campaign for your reference and we will update you with the situation from time to time. Any kind of financial and moral support is much appreciated.
