Help Bring MEDEA to Life at DC Fringe Festival

Donation protected
Unthinkable, unspeakable. A crime against the gods. There will be blood.

New theater company Songs of the Goat will premiere MEDEA, adapted by Ben Power from Euripides’ classic, at the Capital Fringe Festival in Washington, DC in July 2024. We ask for your support to make this a truly successful, earth-shattering production aiming to bring Greek Tragedy back on the stage in DC, while using it as a vehicle for discourse, reflection, healing, and civic engagement in our community.

Your contribution will help fund the following items critical to making this an inimitable production of MEDEA:

  • Rehearsal space rental
  • Stage props and set furniture
  • Lighting and sound elements
  • Character costumes and accessories
  • Fringe Festival and show fees

Contribution Rewards:

Contributors of $250 and above will receive a Songs of the Goat MEDEA poster signed by cast members. Contributors of $500 and above will receive the signed poster and an invitation to watch a limited preview of the show at the Arboretum. Reach out to the production team with contact information to claim these rewards.

About the Show:

This world premiere of our edited version of MEDEA, adapted by Ben Power, is directed by Michael Chamberlin and stars Studio Acting Conservatory teachers and alumni including: Robyn Freeman, Semaj Kelly, Rachel Mantueffel, Liz Perotti, Zach Campion, Vincent Brown, Joey Wilson, Michelle Norris, Sia Wright, Nico Cabrera, Dustin Sardella, and Jack Elmendorf.

About the Production Team:

Songs of the Goat is Zach Campion, Wesley Cook, Brian Franchell, Tariq O, and Elizabeth van den Berg. This production team was born out of actors and directors trained at the Studio Acting Conservatory. There is a long history in America of actors training together and subsequently forming theater companies (including Studio Theater's Second Stage in the 1980's), and we are proud to be part of this. Help us revitalize this tradition by supporting our world-premiere first production.
