Support Mechelle in her fight against Cancer

Thank you so much for taking the time to read our page about our dear sister. This difficult journey began several years ago when Mechelle had intermittent GI issues. She went in a few different times over the years and nothing was found. She really needed someone to pay closer attention and look a little further.

That finally happened mid-summer of 2023. Mechelle was admitted to the hospital unable to keep anything down and with the presence of blood. More extensive tests were run. In the end she was told she had cancer and had 9 months in the least & 18 months at best to live. Due to other conditions found, they said surgery was not an option. She would die. Then some doctors said Chemo was not an option. She would die. They talked with several family members and in the end decided to seek a second opnion.

This led them to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Even further extensive tests were performed and several doctor appointments later.....the outlook was a little less bleak. It was determined that Mechelle had Cirrhosis and Cholangiocarcinoma. Bile Duct Cancer that is contained inside her liver. It had not spread. She needs a complete liver transplant. She went through the necessary tests and is a viable candidate for transplant.

Currently Mechelle is in the latter part of her first week of intensive Chemo and Radiation treatments. Our current goal is to help pay for a large Medical Bill and to help out with travel and living expenses during this 3 week treatment period.

We will update this page with information as things develop. Our goal will increase as medical bills come in and when she has a transplant surgery scheduled.

We are so thankful that the Lord directed Curtis and Mechelle to the doctors at Mayo Clinic. We ask you to join us in continued prayer for Curtis, Mechelle, our entire family and the doctors that are caring for her.

Mechelle is a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She has much to live for. The cover photo was taken on a once in a lifetime trip to Hawai'i in 2022. Where we celebrated Dad's 80th Birthday and Curtis & Mechelle had the Honeymoon they never could have before. Please join us in supporting her and our family as you are led. No amount is trivial. Everything helps!
