My twin sister, Meaghan is facing one of the toughest battles of her life. Over the past several months, she has been struggling with serious and unpredictable health issues that have led to multiple hospital visits — even ambulance rides from the elementary school where she works. Her condition has made it difficult for her to work consistently and has caused tremendous stress on her body and mind.

Recently, things have become even harder. She lost her health insurance coverage, and her workers’ compensation claim was denied, leaving her responsible for mounting medical bills. Now, she is preparing for major heart surgery scheduled for November 25th, right around Thanksgiving. While most families are preparing to celebrate together, she and her family are preparing for one of the most difficult moments they’ve ever faced.

This means she’ll be without pay at a time when medical expenses will continue to pile up. The financial burden is overwhelming, and it’s taking a toll on every part of her life — her work, her home, her marriage, and her ability to care for her two little boys, Karter and Kingston, who adore their mom and just want her to get better.

This situation has affected them all emotionally, mentally, and financially. The uncertainty and stress have been devastating, but through it all, Meaghan continues to fight with courage and love for her family.
