Hello, my name is Victoria, though many also know me as Putzul. I am raising funds to attend the First International Encounter of Practices and Horizons of Resistance from the Global South, which will take place in Bogotá, October 16–17, 2025.
I am currently a research fellow at El Colegio de la Frontera Sur (ECOSUR), in a program designed as preparation for PhD studies. However, my institution cannot provide financial support for this process.
Attending this encounter is deeply meaningful to me because it aligns with both my community commitments and academic goals, such as the study of territories from local, socio-ecological, and biocultural perspectives. At the event, I will present my work: “Physical and Spiritual Territories: Spaces and Practices of Resistance to Homogenizing Modernization”, which is rooted in Tsotsil epistemologies, the sacred relationship with the land, and intergenerational dialogues in my community.
By participating, I will:
-Share the voices and knowledge of Tsotsil peoples in an international space.
-Build networks of resistance with other communities across the Global South.
-Strengthen my capacities for community and academic projects and research.
The funds raised will cover transportation, lodging, and food during the event.
With your support—no matter the size—you will be planting a seed for knowledge, solidarity, and collective learning.
