Hello friends, I’m Jennifer.
I am a person who has always had difficulty asking for help. My stance has usually been that others in the world have it so much worse than me, and I’ve always tried to help others in any way I can, without expecting anything in return. However, I have recently found my daughter and myself in an extremely difficult situation, and at the urging of those closest to me, I have decided to ask for support.
In 2006 I was hit by a car as a pedestrian, and while I am very much lucky to be alive, that accident left me disabled and with numerous health issues I’ve had to manage since. My daughter was born in 2007, and I’ve raised her on my own from age four, along with the loving support of my parents.
On January 20th of 2024, my mother passed away from Alzheimer’s disease after declining in the care of myself, my father, and my daughter. Not long after, we found my father unresponsive in his home and had him hospitalized. He joined my mother not long after.
Since their passing, I have been attempting to carry out my duties as Executor of my parents’ estate. However, my older siblings are attempting to thwart my attempts to settle the estate fairly and amicably. This has led to a legal deadlock, where I am facing having to buy my siblings out of their share of the estate or face homelessness as a disabled single parent.
So, despite my misgivings about asking for assistance, I am here in the hopes of raising money to help my daughter and me buy out the house, as well as handle any legal costs associated therewith. Any assistance would be so very appreciated… even if it’s just a share on your social media.
With love to all,
Jennifer
