Support Me In Reaching My School Counselor Goal
Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Luis Ecute, and I am an educator/grad student preparing to enter my second and final year of my Master's in School Counseling at California State University, Dominguez Hills.
To complete my graduate program and receive my PPS credential, the license that allows me to work as a school counselor, I must complete 900 hours of service in K-12. Having already completed 100 hours the previous semester, I will be wrapping up the final 800 hours this upcoming school year, in addition to a full course load. Due to these requirements limiting my availability to work, I cannot ignore the financial strain that the academic year will put on me. In mid-August, I will need to step away from my position with GEAR UP 4 LA to focus on my studies/internship. If you are inclined and willing to financially support my journey to becoming a high school counselor by donating or sharing this post, I would be very grateful.
Working for GEAR UP for the past 4 years has cemented my pursuit of becoming a school counselor. Through this experience, I have had the pleasure of working at a high school in South Gate, California, where I supported over 1,000+ students to successfully graduate high school, supported their tedious and exhausting college and financial aid applications, and built positive relationships and communities with school staff, students, and parents. I love the work I do, and I rarely stop to consider the impact I am already creating in my communities, so I humbly asked former students to share a story, a moment, or an interaction on how I was able to support them in high school. Linked below is a series of student testimonies I gathered from them. I hope you can support me by donating, sharing, or reading a few of their experiences with the counselor you will be investing in! Help me continue making a lasting impact in our schools and communities.
