Support me in attending the World Transplant Games 2025
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Chris, I had/have polycystic kidneys which over the years resulted in Kidney failure.
I am on a journey, which really started to impact me in 2018 when my left kidney became very large, pressing on my diaphragm, leading to sepsis & pneumonia. After recovering from this ordeal, I had my left kidney removed, it weighed a whoping 4kg!
Unfortunately my right kidney was not functioning, leading me to rely on Dialysis.
Between 2019 - 2021, I attended bournemouth hospital 3 times a week, 5 hours a time receiving dialysis treatment whist I waited for the most precious gift of a lifesaving kidney transplant.
April 1st 2021 during the Covid pandemic, I received the important call, no April fools, this was the real deal. I made my way to Bristol and had my Transplant.
I am forever grateful for this gift that I have received, allowing my life to return to normal.
I knew about the Transplant Games and with my passion for Tennis felt that this would be the next goal in my journey, to compete in the British Translplant games, spread the word about Organ Donation, and do my best to bring back the gold.
In 2023 I won the British Transplant Games for Tennis and I did it again in 2024 , I have since been selected to compete in the world transplant games this year in Dresden, Germany
For me this is not just a competition, but my next challenge in life and very much part of my kidney journey. Unfortunately there are high costs involved with entering the competition and attending. So I am looking for any support in helping me achieve my next goal in life.
Thank you for any support you can provide in getting me to the games.
