Introducing Me

My name is Daniel Munro, I’m a 17-year-old racing driver appealing for your support to realise my ambition of competing in the OT Coupe Cup this year. Since I was eight, I've been immersed in the world of kart racing, securing 8 championship titles, triumphing in a 24-hour race, and earning the accolade of Driver of the Year three times, including the prestigious Downforce Radio’s “Grassroots Racing Driver of the Year” in 2021.

In 2022, I eagerly embarked on my car racing journey, participating in the Ginetta Junior Winter Series. Despite being new to the circuit, I achieved a commendable 6th place in the standings. My initial goal was to advance in the Ginetta Junior Championship for 2023, but the financial hurdles were insurmountable.

Looking ahead to 2024, I've adapted my goals inline with my resources and I am thrilled to have joined Cursley Motorsport to compete in the OT Coupe Cup, a renowned competitive club racing series in the UK. Although the financial demands are less daunting than other series, the costs of car maintenance, race entries, and potential repairs throughout the season are still significant. My parents have been incredibly supportive of my racing ambition, but the financial strain is substantial, and additional support is crucial.

In my spare time, I coach young drivers starting out in the way I did, through karting. I am passionate about encouraging up-and-coming drivers in a sport that is difficult to succeed in by sharing my knowledge and encouragement.

My ultimate goal is to progress to GT Racing, confident that my skills and dedication will lead to a successful season, enhancing my visibility and paving the way for sponsorship opportunities in 2025. Your support could be pivotal in fuelling my journey towards this goal, helping cover the essential expenses that come with competitive racing.

CI Group has continued its support of young talent in Business and into Motorsport as well. There are over a dozen young drivers who have enjoyed driving in the CI Group backed team ‘The Business’, currently young star Dan Munro is making noises and attracting attention having swept everyone away with his karting exploits.
