McKenna is a bright and loving four year old girl born with Spina Bifida. Her favorite color is yellow and she enjoys making people laugh.
Spina Bifida is a birth defect in which a developing baby's spinal cord fails to develop properly. McKenna has the most severe type called Myelomeningocele. This type has caused damaged nerves that have paralyzed her legs and she solely depends on a wheelchair for long term mobility.
We are raising money to cover the out of pocket expense for our family to give McKenna a Turny Seat for our van.
A Turny Seat is an innovative lift and swivel seat for easy transfer from the wheelchair to the vehicle. It can be used with a remote that McKenna can control for more independence. This device will also save us as parents from future back stress due to lifting and positioning.
Insurance covers a budgeted amount and we are left to pay the rest out of pocket. We are very thankful to have insurance that will absorb some of the finances for this device. Since this is a very expensive product, we are in need of asking others to help offset the cost.
