Hey everyone!

McKenna is our 4 month old baby girl. She was born mid January and we thought everything was so amazing. But on my birthday in March, our lives changed forever.

Mckenna was diagnosed with hydrocephalus…. And so started the down hill battle of diagnosis after diagnosis. Specialist after specialist.

since then, she has been diagnosed with laryngomalacia, (please forgive me if I misspell any of these) torticolus, major right eye nerve damage from the pressure in her brain from the hydrocephalus. Severe motor skill delays, right foot reflex issues, macrocephaly, and now she is being sent to Duke to be evaluated for cerebral palsy.

she is in physical therapy twice a week, feeding therapy twice a week (both in another town), she is seeing 2 neurologists, (both over an hour away from home), she gets monthly ultrasounds to monitor the CSF in her ventricles of her brain so they know when to place a shunt to drain the fluid. She is being sent to en ENT because we have to sleep sitting straight up in chairs all night, holding her as she cannot sleep on her back without constant supervision or she chokes. She is also seeing a pediatric optometrist for her right eye. On top of all this we still have to keep up with her primary care doctor appointments as well as our other 4 children needing to be taken care of and given as normal of a life as possible. We are sharing a car, so my husband is having to miss a ton of work to get her to appointments.

anything helps to get us by until our lives can somewhat go back to normal. Whenever that may be.

any donations will go towards medical bills that insurance doesn’t pick up, gas to appointments, car issues (our car’s transmission is most likely going to go out, just praying it does not), bills, groceries and if we get enough, we will pay off the car so it will be easier to get a 2nd car so my husband can stop missing so much work.
