Support McKenna's Fight

This campaign is being created to show our love and support for the Americk Family--Rob, Jill, and most especially their 3 year-old daughter, McKenna Claire.
On May 31, 2020, McKenna complained that her tummy was hurting. Her parents brought her to Urgent Care and after ruling out appendicitis, McKenna was sent to the hospital for further testing and scans. From those test results, Rob & Jill received some of the worst news imaginable for a parent: doctors discovered McKenna has a tumor on her liver, which was later diagnosed as a hepatoblastoma, a very rare form of pediatric cancer that is typically found in children around the age of three.
McKenna will undergo three months of chemotherapy at UNC Chapel Hill (which began on June 6th), to be followed by surgery to remove what is left of the tumor. In between treatments, she is on a lot of medicine to protect her other organs and ensure she stays as healthy as possible during this tremendous fight ahead for her and her family.
Many of you know that the Americks relocated to North Carolina from New Jersey in 2017 when McKenna was a baby to begin an exciting new life in Raleigh. With them so far away geographically from their many loved ones and friends, Robert's cousin Jami created this Gofundme for everyone to send their love and support as they embark on McKenna's journey to healing. All contributions will go directly to the Americks to help with any financial needs that might arise related to McKenna's care as well as taking care of this young, beautiful family as they bravely face this latest heart-wrenching battle.
