Hello my name is Caitlyn Caramello and I am one of the track coaches at the Donald McKay K-8 School in East Boston. In Boston Public Schools our middle school meets are usually held at White Stadium in Dorchester. Due to the recent deconstruction we have not had a normal track season; we have had many practices but no opportunities to compete. A week ago I was notified that we could enter our athletes into the MA state meet held at Bridgewater State University. Unfortunately in order for our students to attend it is $9 per athlete and $10 for any family member that would like to come and show their support. Bridgewater State is also a very far location so we were hoping that this gofundme would not only help our students and families attend this big meet but also aid in providing snacks and water for competition day. Aside from this we were also notified that students may not have a normal track season or track season at all until 2027 due to the continuous construction. Since we may not have track for the next two years we were thinking about doing something special and getting our 16 dedicated athletes sweatshirts as a season ending gift. Our athletes have shown so much growth this season, they are competitive, passionate and are hungry to compete. They also have some pretty impressive times and measurements in their events, which will be exciting to see come meet day. We appreciate you all and are very grateful for your support!
