Support the McDevittStrong Foundation: NYC Marathon 2024

My name is Frank Pizzo and I am running the 2024 TCS NYC Marathon for the McDevittStrong Foundation, honoring my best friend FF Matthew McDevitt who lost his courageous battle with a rare cancer called NUT Carcinoma almost five years to the day of the race. In what will be 10 years since my first NYC marathon, I plan to challenge myself physically and mentally (emotions certainly to be running high) as an ode to my friend who was relentless, optimistic, focused, grounded, fun-loving, and selfless.

By running for McDevittStrong, I hope to raise funds for an organization whose mission I believe in full-heartedly: providing financial support to the heroes of New York and their children in times of needs through local fundraising and community outreach. First responders and their families are true heroes in what they contribute to the community in their everyday life. Anything and everything we can do for these folks, we should. The McDevittStrong credo is Nobody Fights Alone. Through tragedy, there is an opportunity to grow, inspire, support, and change perspective; remembering that sweating is a privilege that can't be taken for granted. Stronger together, together forever.

I look forward to the race on November 3, 2024. I look forward to the rest of the training, the highs and the lows, and the emotions certainly to be involved in those 26.2 miles. Please consider supporting my efforts to raise funds to the benefit of the McDevittStrong Foundation.
