Help Maykao Fight Lupus – Support Her Hospital Journey

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

We are reaching out on behalf of our dear sister/sister-in-law, Maykao Xiong, who has been battling Lupus and is currently facing a critical health crisis. Lupus is an autoimmune disease where a person's immune system attacks its own body tissues and organs. There is currently no cure for Lupus, just treatments. Maykao was admitted to the hospital on March 10, 2025 after experiencing high levels of weakness and exhaustion. On March 21, she experienced some further challenges that required her to be moved to ICU, where she fought for her health with unwavering strength. This is her most serious episode, with the lupus having impacted many of her major body organs. Her days at the hospital have been filled with many ups and downs.

Maykao is not just a patient—she is a loving wife, a devoted mother to three wonderful children (two older daughters with one getting ready to go to college and a younger son), and a cherished friend to so many. She's always been an independent, free-spirited person, having traveled often in the past overseas for work, but consistently putting her family first. As her family, we are doing everything we can to support her during this difficult time, but the medical expenses, hospital bills, and unforeseen costs are becoming overwhelming, beyond what her insurance and other sources of financial support may be able to cover.

We are starting this GoFundMe campaign to help ease the financial burden on her husband and children so they can focus on what truly matters—Maykao's recovery. Any contribution, big or small, will make a world of difference to the family. Contributions (minus any GoFundMe charges) will go directly to Maykao to help pay for her expenses
