Support Mayci: Mother of two in Need.
Donation protected
If you have it in your heart to help someone who makes helping others her whole life, please read and share the following. Mayci Harman is a 25-year-old mother of two toddlers. She works full time on an ambulance as an EMT, and brings in additional income for her family by working a part-time EMT job as well. When Mayci isn’t at work taking care of her community, she is at home actively taking care of her children.
Sunday, April 6th, Mayci collapsed on her kitchen floor. Upon collapsing, she obtained a significant spinal injury and lost control of multiple bodily functions. Since the fall, Mayci has been unable to walk or stand independently, sit up straight in bed, and has still not regained control of certain bodily functions. Mayci has been admitted to the University of Kansas Medical Center since the incident. She has two herniated discs, both of which are compressing her spinal cord and nerve roots. At this point, she has received multiple spinal injections, which can take 7-10 days to feel the full effects of. The hope is that these injections will reduce the compression enough for Mayci to regain mobility and function. If the injections are insufficient, there is a high possibility spinal surgery and/or time in a rehabilitation facility will be required.
At this time, Mayci has been out of work for a week, and will be out of work for the foreseeable future. Mayci’s job has been very understanding, helpful and empathetic of her situation. That being said, her household relies on her ability to work and bring in an income. She works 48-72 hours every single week, and now is only receiving the limited amount of sick time she can get. Any money donated will be put towards Mayci’s household bills, travel expenses for Mayci’s family, and assisting Mayci in providing for herself and her children until she is able to return to work. Every dollar counts in this hard time, and thank you in advance to anyone who finds it within them to donate, or even just share this with their friends and family.
