I’m reaching out to you because a dog in my community is suffering from neglect. She’s tethered outdoors full-time, exposed to harsh weather, and, sadly, appears to be pregnant with no proof of veterinary care. I’ve been advocating for her, but the situation is urgent, especially as the cold weather sets in.

Due to the lack of local ordinance (for animal shelter and animal welfare) in Bamberg, SC, local authorities (Animal Control, Police, Sheriff) and the Mayor looked at the SC State Law for "Adequate Shelter" and found the owner to be in compliance (despite evidence of inadequateness such as the dog house not being elevated nor properly insulated). Their assessment also implied that the owner did not violate anything.

Upon hundreds of request to create a crowd funding campaign by community members and concerned individuals around the world, I have decided to accept this option as a possible solution to safely and legally re-home the dog.

With this campaign, I hope to raise funds to help acquire the dog directly from her owner (or at least try to persuade them), ensuring she can be safely rehomed with me.

These funds will cover the owner’s surrender (compensation for their care investment), and most importantly, the dog’s veterinary care—including prenatal exams, food, vaccinations, spay, and the safe delivery of her puppies.

This isn’t just about one dog. It’s about showing that we, as a community, believe animals deserve love, respect, and basic care. Your support will help ensure her safety and give these puppies a chance at life.
