My name is Maya Sitoula, and I am from Damak, Jhapa, Nepal. I never imagined that one day I would be writing a message asking others to help me fight for my life.

About two years ago, my life changed when I discovered a lump in my breast. At first, I tried to ignore it, hoping it would disappear. But as time passed, the lump continued to grow and my worry grew with it. Finally, I went to the hospital for medical tests.

After several examinations, doctors gave me devastating news — I was diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer.

Hearing those words was one of the most frightening moments of my life. I felt my world collapse around me. My thoughts immediately went to my family and my children. I wondered if I would survive and if I would be able to continue caring for the people I love.

Doctors told me that I needed surgery to remove the cancer, and I went through the operation with hope and faith that I could overcome this disease. The surgery was painful both physically and emotionally, but I stayed strong because I wanted to live.

After the surgery, my treatment continued. I had to undergo chemotherapy and radiation therapy to fight the cancer. Over time, I completed six cycles of chemotherapy, which was one of the hardest experiences of my life.

Chemotherapy made my body extremely weak. I suffered from constant fatigue, nausea, and pain. I watched my hair fall out and struggled through many sleepless nights. There were days when my body felt like it could not go on, but my love for my family gave me the strength to continue.

Following chemotherapy, I also received radiation therapy, which was another difficult stage of treatment.

Despite all the treatments and the long fight over the past two years, my battle with cancer has become even more challenging. Recently, doctors discovered that the cancer has spread (metastasized) to my liver and bones.

Hearing this news was heartbreaking. It felt like starting the fight all over again.

Doctors have now advised that I need further chemotherapy and ongoing medical treatment to control the cancer and give me the chance to live longer. These treatments are critical for my survival.

However, cancer treatment is extremely expensive, and my family has already spent everything we had during the past two years. We used our savings and borrowed money from relatives and friends to pay for surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and hospital visits.

Sadly, we can no longer manage the cost of continuing treatment alone.

This is why I am humbly asking for support. Any help, no matter how small, will go directly toward my chemotherapy treatments, medications, medical tests, and hospital care.

Your kindness could help give me more time with my family. It could help a mother continue fighting for her life.

If you are unable to donate, sharing my story with others would also mean the world to me.

Even though cancer has taken so much from my life, it has not taken away my hope. I still believe that with compassion and support from kind people, I can continue this fight.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read my story and support me during this difficult journey.

With hope and gratitude,

Maya Sitoula
