Many of you have been keeping up with Maya's cancer journey as we've been slowly finding out answers and learning new information. Thank you so much to everyone who has been checking in on us and Maya. We appreciate it more than y'all know.

The first information given to us by our vet turned out to not be the most accurate information. We met with the oncologist last week and the oncologist surgeon today. He feels very confident about the surgery to remove the Anal Gland tumor even with its location and size. He has done hundreds of these surgeries before and feels confident in the chances of giving Maya a normal life post-op.

After surgery, we will be doing 6 rounds of chemotherapy and monitoring a suspect lymph node for cancer development. With this treatment, the surgeon feels we could have a couple of more years with our girl. INCREDIBLE NEWS. As you can imagine, all of this comes with a hefty price... even more so because we just spent $5,300 on our other husky, Malia, and her ACL surgery.
