Support Mayan Elder with Medical Expenses

My name is Rosemary and Dolores Ratzan Pablo is a dear friend of mine. I am raising funds to help her with medical costs from a recurring bacterial infection and to pay for her basic needs over the next few months as she recovers. She is the bread winner of her family, making her main income from leading tours and ceremonies for visitors of Lake Atitlan, Guatemala.

Unfortunately, she has been unable to work very much due to her illness, since last winter.

Dolores is a Medicine woman of the Tzutujil Maya in Santiago de Atitlan, Guatemala. She is also an amazing embroidery artist and bead worker, having been recognized for her remarkably detailed craft work at esteemed US museums during the 1980’s.

Dolores has a kind and generous spirit that is to be admired. I recognize the importance of helping her, not only because she is a leading Medicine Woman supporting her Tzutujil community, but also because she understands the importance of teaching visitors to Lake Atitlan about her peoples’ history and respect for their ancient traditions.
