It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the devastating loss of a beautiful soul, Ma-Ya Tolbert. Ma-Ya was a loving mother whose entire world revolved around her children. At seven months pregnant, her life was tragically taken far too soon, leaving behind three precious children who now face a world without the parents who loved them deeply. Her babies—only 9 months old, 3 years old, and 10 years old—have suffered an unimaginable loss. In a moment, their lives changed forever. The warmth of their mother’s embrace, the comfort of her voice, and the love and care she provided them are now memories that must somehow carry them forward. Ma-Ya was more than a mother. She was a daughter, a friend, and a light in the lives of those who knew her. Her kindness, strength, and love will never be forgotten.
