It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that Michael Keith Barber of Valley Cottage, NY, passed away on the morning of Thursday, October 22, following a devastating motorcycle accident on the George Washington Bridge.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Maya Barber, and his three cherished children, Emmett, Layla, and Brooklyn, who were the center of his world. He also leaves behind his parents, Keith and Karen Barber, and his loving sisters, Jen, Bethanny, and Rebekah.
Michael’s memory will live on through the love he shared, the memories he created, and the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His love and legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Michael’s loss has left a hole in the lives of so many people who loved him. It’s difficult to put into words the heartbreak of losing someone so suddenly, especially knowing that his wife, Maya, and their one-year-old son, Emmett, now have to face a future without him by their side.
This GoFundMe was created to help Maya with funeral expenses and the financial challenges that come with such an unimaginable loss. As she navigates the days ahead, I hope we can come together to give her some relief from those worries, allowing her to focus on grieving, taking care of Emmett, and finding her way through this incredibly difficult time.
Emmett is still so little, and while he won’t have the chance to grow up with his dad by his side, we hope he will always know how deeply he was loved and how many people cared about his father. Every donation, no matter the amount, is a way to show Maya and Emmett that they are not alone and that they have a community ready to support them when they need it most.
If you’re able to contribute, please know that it truly means so much. And if you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser and keeping Maya and Emmett in your thoughts means just as much.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity, compassion, and for helping surround Maya and Emmett with love during this heartbreaking time.
