Maya and Cathy are taking part in an important two week trek called Everest to End Duchenne. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a devastating progressive disease that has no cure. One of those living with DMD is our friend, Gus. Gus is the son of Steve and Tonya Dreher who started the Hope for Gus Foundation to advance a cure for this disease. We will trek to Everest Base Camp in honor of those who cannot make the walk themselves. In doing so, we hope to raise awareness and necessary funds to help find a cure for DMD. All funds will go directly to Hope for Gus.

Maya is also doing an internship with Hope For Gus as she finishes her degree in Public Health from UMASS, Amherst. She is working with Tonya to create a registry to better connect necessary medical equipment to those living in Nepal and suffering from DMD.
