The last pup to be rescued in the nick of time from an overcrowded shelter in Georgia last week, where he was listed for euthanasia, Maxwell is now safe in temporary foster care and ready to start the next chapter of his life.

His forever home is on the horizon—in Virginia, a foster-to-adopt family is waiting to welcome him. But to get there, Maxwell needs your help.

From his bio, we learned that:

Maxwell is an independent pup with a soft spot for cheese, plush toys, and a good romp in the yard. Though he’s experienced stress in a kennel environment, once outside, he blossoms. He’s easy to leash, enjoys exploring at his own pace, and even loves a gentle game of catch.

He knows how to “sit” like a pro, especially when treats are involved, and welcomes affection with calmness and grace. Maxwell takes treats politely, re-kennels without issue, and brings a quiet dignity to every new experience. He may be slightly aloof initially, but his sweet, loyal nature shines through once he's comfortable. And we can’t wait to see what else this sweet pup can do!

Maxwell's new home understands that patience is key. In return, we are sure that he will be the best, devoted, low-key companion who will bring peace, joy, and quiet companionship to complete his forever family.
