This update is not the one we hoped for. Max’s battle with Cancer ended Feb 15, 2025, at home surrounded by family.

Many people have asked us what they can do. This GoFundMe will support a bench in Max's name for 30+ years at his favorite place on Earth, the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden near our house. We often went here together, where Max enjoyed the beauty of the flowers, trees, ducks, eagles and carp. We found a salamander once. We always walked the same path.

The support for this bench has been amazing. We plan to sponsor this bench indefinitely. We are also planning to create a foundation in Max's name to support families going through childhood Cancer. We are not yet sure what this foundation will look like, but we know it will center around the ways Max enjoyed living: engaging with others; a love of animals, legos, art, music, stuffies, cute things and gardening; and although he loved traveling with us, he loved coming home even more.
