Support Max's Journey to Residency- Triathlon

Hello! My name is Maximiliano Abundez Toledo (Max) and I’m a 4th year medical student at UCLA. As I get ready for residency next year, I set a goal to complete my first triathlon. My hope is that it will keep me consistent and that sharing my journey will motivate others to pursue their own endeavors.

I started school in 2020 in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Staying in shape has always been his priority and I used exercise to deal with the stress of being a medical student. I completed my first half marathon on January 15th, 2023 and then recently completed my second on October 6th, 2024. My next goal is to complete a 70.3 mile Ironman composed of a 1.2 mile swim in the open ocean, a 56 mile bike ride, and a half marathon (13.1 miles) to finish it off.

This competition carries a number of costs including registration fees ($560), biking, swimming, and running equipment/gear ($1,000), and dozens of hours of training and meal prepping to ensure adequate preparation. Your contribution would mean a lot to make this goal happen as I get ready to begin my journey as an emergency medicine physician in 2025.
