This is Max. If you’ve had the privilege of knowing him, you already know: he’s the kind of person who gives everything he has for the people he loves. Kind, thoughtful, humble, and full of humor — Max has a heart of gold. Tragically, it’s that very heart that’s now in trouble.
Max is just 35 years old. Two years ago, his life changed forever when he was diagnosed with heart failure. It came out of nowhere and has taken a heavy toll, despite the efforts of an incredible team of doctors and a circle of people who love him fiercely.
His condition has worsened. Max is now hospitalized, unable to go home, and waiting for a heart transplant that could save his life. The wait could be months, and even after receiving a new heart, the road ahead will be long, physically and emotionally.
But here’s the thing: Max is fighting. Through the pain, through the fear, through the endless uncertainty — he’s choosing hope.
He’s showing up every day with courage and grit, refusing to give up on life, on us, on himself. And we’re not giving up on him either. He has so much life left to live. So many laughs left to share. So many people left to inspire with the goodness he carries in him.
