Meet Max, the beloved husky mix who is a rescue from Puerto Rico. He was diagnosed with glaucoma in January 2022 and will have to have one of his eyes removed as soon as possible.
Glaucoma is an extremely painful degenerative eye condition. Apparently, when a dog has glaucoma, it feels like a perpetual migraine. He has been on three different medications to control the pressure, which he receives four times daily, but they will eventually wear out. He is visibly in pain and often squints his eye due to pain and discomfort.
Max's Cancer Surgery to remove the cancer lumps.
Ever since I adopted him in 2018, he's been going through a lot of health battles, including his recent fight against Mast cell tumor from January to October 2022.
He fought through four major surgeries (this was a pre existing condition too but I was able to help from my side) and now he's cancer-free. During his cancer treatment, we found out that he has primary glaucoma in his left blue eye (he has two different colored eyes).
We used medication for over a year, but this past week, his pressure spiked and his eye started becoming red. At this point, the vet is recommending a surgery to remove one of his eye (left blue eye), which will alleviate the pain forever.

Our ophthalmologist advises that it is time to remove his eyes and that we should do it as soon as possible. She believes that this will improve the quality of Max's life, and we hope so too. This operation will cost around $2888, plus blood work.
We have medical insurance, but unfortunately, Max's glaucoma is a pre-existing condition and wouldn't cover the above surgery. We want to get Max the comfort he needs and are seeking assistance! Please help fund max's surgery so he can live a long, happy, and pain-free life. He's been through so much already.

I am overwhelmed with gratitude for your generous donation towards Max’s glaucoma surgery. I’m thrilled to share that the surgery was successful, and Max is now on the road to recovery. Your support has made a significant impact on his well-being, and we are truly thankful for your kindness during this challenging time.
