On June 2nd, my son Maximus got sick. He came down with the rhinovirus and started severe choking episodes. We were admitted to Covenant Pediatric ICU for 3 days, and a few days later, another overnight stay, followed by a 3-day admission to the University of Michigan. One week before Max got sick, his father was imprisoned for a deplorable crime. While in the hospital, doctors started noticing a lot of problems with Maximus. He was born with a right aortic arch, which I follow closely with a pediatric cardiologist. In the hospital, they found he has poor tone, horrific GI issues, airway issues, not meeting milestones, no reflexes in his legs, and the list goes on. We have spent the last month begging and crying to doctors to help us, as in some areas Maximus's conditions have worsened. On July 1st, it came to a head. We found a doctor that took us very seriously. They believe Maximus is aspirating into his lungs. They think he has stenosis in his airway. They think his stomach opening may be fused to his airway. He is being tested for underlying genetic conditions, milk protein allergy, environmental allergies, GERD; again, the list goes on. From now to August 21st, we have 26 appointments, with many referrals put in but not scheduled yet. As many know, I recently had to close my hair shop because of the removal of their dad and then the medical journey with Max. Right now, with his current recurring infections and appointments, I have missed so much work, and there is no end in sight. I am asking for donations to help me get through the next couple of months, until we can get Maximus diagnosed, stable, and myself back to work full time. The money will solely be spent on bills, room and board, and travel. I appreciate you all so much
