We are seeking support for our 6 year old daughter, Mavis, who has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor.

Mavis has a genetic mutation called TP53, Li Fraumeni Syndrome, that makes her predisposed to certain types of tumors. We discovered this after the sudden loss of our oldest daughter due to brain cancer. Because of this, she undergoes yearly MRI scans and regular lab work.

On October 1st 2025, Mavis checked in to Doernbecher's Children's Hospital for her routine, yearly whole body MRI. Before her and her dad even made it home I received a call saying they found a mass on her brain and she had swelling in the bones of her feet. We were immediately scheduled for an in person physical screening and a deep brain MRI. We were also referred to pediatric neurosurgery.

October 3rd, we met with her geneticist who tested her reflexes and coordination and checked her feet.

October 9th, Mavis had her deep brain MRI at Sunnyside Hospital.

October 16th, ER visits and worsening headaches.

Admitted to Doernbechers on October 23rd, had a spinal MRI and brain surgery on the 24th. Mavis had a Grade 4 Medulloblastoma.

Mavis underwent proton radiation treatment in Seattle for 7 weeks at Fred Hutch Cancer Center. She was able to come home on January 10th!

Our next steps now are countless lab appointments, chemotherapy starting on February 10th.

With all this being said and discovered, we created this GoFundMe to assist with medical treatment for Mavis, gas for commuting to Portland, bills from loss of work/being on leave to care for Mavis, necessities for our 3 other daughters at home and more. I will be updating this page every step of the way as we move forward in this journey.
