It takes a village to raise a child with autism. We have found wonderful resources for our son in our beautiful state of Utah. The costs of all those resources add up. Maverick goes to a private school for children on the autism spectrum. They also provide ABA therapy as well. The tuition is $13K annually. If we’re fortunate enough to receive a scholarship, these funds would cover medical expenses for ABA therapy, transportation, sensory and support aids and the surgery and tests for Megan’s kidney cancer. Megan is a SAHM (stay-at-home mom), and we are a neurodivergent family. My husband helps manufacture dialysis products and lactated ringers, often working 12+ hours a day. He is a dedicated husband and father. I quit my job to be able to transport our son the 30 minutes to and from school and because daycare costs more than my annual income. I have tried working jobs from home that are swing or grave shift. Without my income, we have fallen behind. My husband had back surgery a few years ago, and recently I had an appendectomy, and the CT scan confirmed I have renal cell carcinoma. In the best-case scenario, they will remove the area where the cancer is on my kidney. My husband will need to take time off work to take care of our son and me while I’m recovering. I have to rest and keep my blood pressure down while recovering. This added stress causes a lot of anxiety. We would appreciate any help you can give.
