On July 27, 2026, we lost Allen Peterson, husband to Melissa and father to their four-year-old daughter, Maven, after a courageous battle with cancer. Allen faced his illness the way he faced everything in life: head-on, without backing down. Those who knew Allen knew a man who could fix almost anything, who played music entirely by ear, and who was always the first to show up when someone needed help. But more than anything, Allen was Maven's dad. Being her father was the role he loved most, and everything he did was rooted in that love.

Melissa, a grade school teacher, now carries forward the life she and Allen built together for their daughter. This fund has been set up by family to help secure Maven's future, her education, her opportunities, and the life Allen wanted so badly to help build for her.
