Support Mauricio's Path to U.S. Citizenship

After 25 years of living in the U.S, having moved here as a child, I finally have the opportunity to become a U.S. citizen.

It’s been a long, expensive, and often uncertain journey to get to this point, but I recently took a big step and applied for naturalization/citizenship — a goal that’s been years in the making.

The United States has been home to me for as long as I can remember. It would mean so much to finally be recognized as a full member of the country I’ve grown up in and built a life in. Especially in light of today’s political climate, I don’t feel fully secure (even with a Green Card) until I have full citizenship. Thankfully, that may become a reality as soon as this coming weekend.

Después de 25 años viviendo en Estados Unidos, tras haber llegado aquí de niño, finalmente tengo la oportunidad de hacerme ciudadano estadounidense.

Ha sido un camino largo, costoso y muchas veces incierto para llegar hasta este punto, pero recientemente tomé un gran paso y presenté mi solicitud de naturalización — una meta que he tenido por muchos años.

Los Estados Unidos ha sido mi hogar desde que tengo memoria. Significaría mucho para mí ser reconocido por fin como un miembro pleno del país donde crecí y donde he construido mi vida. Especialmente en el clima político actual, no me siento completamente seguro (incluso teniendo un Green Card) hasta obtener la ciudadanía. Con la bendición de Dios , eso podría hacerse realidad este próximo fin de semana.
