Hello, this is the friends and coworkers of Mauricio Aponte from Kleenmark. We are heartbroken to share the tragic news that Mauricio passed away on 7/22/25 while performing an act of ultimate bravery – saving a child from drowning. His heroic actions cost him his life, but they speak volumes about the kind of man Mauricio was: selfless, courageous, and full of love for others.

Mauricio was a beloved friend, coworker, son, husband, and most importantly a devoted father. He was the kind of person who would light up a room with his energy. He was always first to offer help, to show up when someone needed a hand, and to lift others with his positive attitude and kind heart.

To his family, Mauricio was everything. A loving and present father who worked tirelessly to give his daughters a better future. A supportive husband who adored his wife. A proud son who made his family proud every single day. And to those of us who had the privilege of working alongside him, he was more than a coworker – he was a brother.

We have created this GoFundMe to support Mauricio’s family during this devastating time – to help cover funeral expenses and provide for his loved ones as they begin to navigate life without him. Any contribution, no matter how big or small, will go directly to his family.
