Support Maurice (Poe) After Motorcycle Accident

Donation protected
Maurice Jordan, who many know as Poe, is facing one of the toughest challenges of his life. On October 2, Maurice was in a devastating motorcycle accident that left him hospitalized in the intensive care unit. While he was fighting to recover, he received the heartbreaking news that he had been terminated from his job. Just days later, his health insurance was stopped, leaving him without coverage during his most vulnerable time.

After weeks in the hospital, Maurice was finally released on November 18. However, his journey is far from over. He now requires a caregiver and a driver, as he cannot walk and is working hard to relearn daily living skills and activities. With no income and Medicaid and other financial support still pending, Maurice is struggling to cover even the most basic needs. The cost of his rehab center was extremely high, and he was there for several weeks. On top of mounting medical bills, he needs help with food, daily care items, and transportation to rehab and doctor appointments. Even small things, like holiday decorations and tips for caregivers, are out of reach right now.

What makes Maurice truly special is his generous and caring spirit. Based on the outpouring of love from everyone who has called or visited, it’s clear that he has touched countless lives. Maurice is the kind of person who would give his last dollar to help someone in need—even a stranger. In his spare time, he would drive around the city, donating food to people experiencing homelessness or anyone who needed a helping hand. He lives by the motto “POE”—People Over Everything—which truly demonstrates his passion for people. All the people in his life can testify to his big heart and his commitment to helping others.

If you know Maurice, you know he would never ask for help for himself. He’s always been the one to give, not to receive, and he would never want anyone to feel obligated to support him. But right now, he needs us. This is an incredibly hard time for Maurice, and he is doing his best to stay hopeful despite the trauma and uncertainty. Any support—whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this fundraiser—will make a real difference in his recovery. Please help Maurice get through this difficult chapter and give him a chance to heal, rebuild, and find some joy this holiday season.
