My name is Maureen. I am a student at Chico State University in the Special Education Teaching Credential program. Im also a wife, a devoted aunt, and a fur baby mom.

After 2 weeks of struggling to breathe, it has been discovered I have blood clots in my lungs, which is causing my heart to work overtime to keep me alive.

Rushed into the hospital yesterday. I am hooked to all kinds of machines, receiving all kinds of treatments and tests.

I am very thankful for the dedicated nurses and doctors who are looking after me.

I do not have medical coverage, so all these expenses are going to be out of pocket.

My husband works as a case manager, helping individuals gain independence in the community, and is our sole income.

Without medical bills, we just make it through a month.

Ongoing medicine will be needed on discharge and then come the hospital bills.
