Support Mauley on His Gene Therapy Journey for a Cure

Donation protected

Our grandson, Jamal Lewis II, A.K.A, 'Mauley', has Sickle Cell Anemia, which is the same disease that caused his mother, our daughter La Shonda's death. She passed away at the very young age of 33.

Already at age 14, Mauley has had to endure many excruciating pain episodes, multiple blood transfusions, and several stints in the Intensive Care Unit to keep him alive. He has been a research participant in a groundbreaking process called Gene Therapy that could tremendously reduce, or possibly cure, Mauley of Sickle Cell Disease.

The Gene Therapy is very hard on the patient and causes a tremendous financial burden on the family as Mauley will need to remain in the hospital for at least 3 months. While in the hospital, the family will need to be present with him as much as possible to ensure that his day-to-day needs are met as well as provide emotional support and encouragement.

We are asking you to kindly donate any amount that you can to support the family during this very exciting, but trying time. No amount is too small. We also ask for your prayers and good thoughts as Mauley travels this daunting journey.

We thank you in advance,

Mauley's Family
