Hi, my name is Matt, and I’m a father of four—three daughters and one son—who mean the world to me. I’ve always worked hard to provide for them, but life took an unexpected turn in July 2023 when a car wreck changed everything. I never imagined I’d be here, asking for help, and I’m still grappling with the decision to share this. But the weight of medical bills and the struggle to keep our family afloat has left me with no choice.

On July 1, 2023, I was in a severe car accident that landed me in the hospital for a month. The seat belt that saved my life also caused devastating damage, killing part of my colon and intestine. After exploratory surgery, I needed a colostomy and endured seven surgeries from July to December 14th. The crash also caused a lateral bisection, leaving me with muscle atrophy and the loss of over 30 pounds. I had to relearn how to walk—a humbling and painful journey I never expected. Those months were a blur of recovery, pain, and determination to get back to my kids. My body was fighting to heal, but the financial toll was relentless. Hospital bills piled up, and despite working grueling 16-hour days to catch up on missed payments and ongoing expenses, I’m barely keeping my head above water. Every paycheck goes to medical debt or keeping the lights on, and it’s depleting everything we have.

My four kids—my daughters, 13, 12, and 6, and my son, 10—are my reason to keep pushing. I want to be there for them, not just physically, but as the dad who can give them stability and hope. Right now, I’m fighting to do that, but I need help. We’re raising updated from previous donations $56,605.50 to cover medical bills, pay down debt from missed work, and give our family a chance to breathe. Every dollar will go directly to these expenses, helping us rebuild without the constant fear of falling further behind.
