Dear Family and Friends,
We want to share some important news. In November 2024, Matt’s brother Brian was diagnosed with kidney failure and is in urgent need of a kidney transplant. Matt generously stepped forward to be tested as a donor—and we are grateful to share that he is a match. The transplant surgery is scheduled for July 15th.
Matt will undergo surgery and requires six weeks or more for recovery. Unfortunately, his job does not offer paid time off or disability benefits, which means this extended recovery period will significantly impact our family’s finances especially with Matt being the breadwinner to our family.
For those who may not know, Matt has been deeply involved in our community—prevously serving as a volunteer firefighter with both the Farmingdale and Bayshore Fire Departments, participating in the recovery efforts at Ground Zero after 9/11, and coaching Farmingdale PAL 2034 Boys Lacrosse. He is also an amazing father to Grayson (8) and Maelie (22).
We never thought we would find ourselves in this situation and, given the anticipated loss of income during his recovery, we are reaching out to our community, friends, and family for support. Any contributions to help cover living expenses during this time would mean the world to us, allowing Matt to focus fully on healing without the added stress of financial worries.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and kindness.
With gratitude,
Matthew and Lauren Pullaro
