Update on Matt: Your prayers are working please keep them coming!

He had a successful surgery Friday but was on the ventilator until yesterday at noon, as of yesterday he was unable to speak. But today, they have him sitting in a chair although he can barely utter a word, He told Charles, “I am alive.” Although he can't drink water yet, a swallow study was done. And he can now take pain medication mixed in applesauce. Please keep praying for his continued recovery!

We reach out to you in a time of need. We come to you with heavy hearts, seeking your support and prayers for Charles brother Matt Utley, who has been battling for his life for the past five weeks in the ICU, at St. Bernard's Hospital. At only 39 years old, he's facing the fight of his life after suffering a massive heart attack. Matt is not just a dedicated X-ray Tech at Wynne Hospital; he's a man with a heart of gold who cherishes his family, work family, and God above all else.

With no wife or kids of his own, he needs our collective support now more than ever. Despite undergoing multiple surgeries, including a stent, triple bypass, valve repairs, and the removal of a blood clot, Matt's condition remains critical. He's currently relying on a machine called "Impela" to assist his heart, and the road ahead is filled with uncertainty and complications due to heart failure. His next surgery will place him on a LVAD device to assist his heart while going onto the heart transplant list.

Just when we thought we saw a glimmer of hope, setbacks have plagued Matt's recovery journey. His recent struggles with infections, severe pain, and a massive blood clot in his leg, pneumonia, and fluid on his legs and feet. Yet, amidst the uncertainty, we hold onto faith and the belief in a God of miracles. We've witnessed Matt's incredible strength firsthand, and we know God is not done with him yet.

Against all odds, he walked into the emergency room under his own power, defying medical expectations. But now, he needs our collective strength and prayers more than ever before. As we navigate this challenging time, we're humbly asking for your support. Every prayer, every donation, and every gesture of kindness brings us one step closer to helping Matt beat the odds.
