Hi, my name is Matt Lamson. I'm an actor here in Chicago and I'm producing my own TV Pilot. I'm a firm believer in chasing your dreams at full speed and I need your help. I've been a functional fitness coach for the last 8 years at a gym in my neighborhood and I wrote a pilot script for a show called "Thank You, Coach" based on my experiences as a coach over the last decade. It's a 30 min narrative ensemble comedy about the coaching staff, their relationships with each other and the member population, and the antics that happen both right in front of your face and behind the scenes in gym setting. Think Ted Lasso meets The Bear dropped into a functional training facility.
There's an amazing quote by Conan O'Brien that goes something like "if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen." I'm busting my butt to create this thing and I like to think I'm fairly kind to everyone in my life. So I'm putting this out to my community, my friends, my family, and hoping that you might be willing to help make my dreams come true. The budget for pilot episodes of massive hit shows (like most HBO shows) can stretch into the tens of millions. I'm trying to do this at a fraction of that. I've been saving up my own money but I'm just a guy. I don't have any studios or financers backing me. Anything you can contribute will go a long way.
-I have the crew built: DP, 1st AD, Art, HMU, Sound, Electric, Gaffer, Catering, PAs.
-The cast is full of amazing local talent.
-I have my gameplan for post production to connect with streaming/network as well as go on a festival run.
But I just need to make the darn thing first. Can you help me make my dreams come true?
