Support Mattley's Road to Recovery

Dear family, friends, and kind strangers,

On Thursday, March 27th, our brother and good friend Mattley experienced a life-threatening medical event and was rushed by ambulance to the hospital, where he underwent a complicated emergency surgery. For the next 2 weeks, his condition was extremely tenuous, as he remained in a medically-induced coma on life support while doctors waited to see whether he would regain the strength necessary to breathe on his own again. Against all odds, he met that goal and began breathing again without the assistance of a ventilator and he now begins the long process of rehabilitation.

Given the severity of the situation he now faces, his journey back to living a “normal” life will be long and challenging.

Before this unexpected event, Mattley’s main source of income had been dog-walking, which, for the foreseeable future as he recuperates, will be impossible for him to do. Those of us who love and care about him are working together to ensure that he’s able to receive the best care he can, and to focus all of his energy on regaining his strength and healing, without having to worry about the cost of medical expenses and those of daily life.

Mattley is an amazing person in so many ways, and we know that many of you are wondering how you can best support him through this incredibly difficult time. We are reaching out to ask you to consider making a contribution of whatever amount you feel you can afford to help support this campaign.
