My name is Elishama Smith and I'm organizing this on behalf of my sister, Matti. I grew up in the middle of 5 siblings. My family is absolutely everything to me. On May 27th 2024 our entire world was rocked. It was Memorial Day when I received the worst phone call I could ever get. My older sister, Matti, who is ONLY 43, had suffered a massive heart attack and gone into cardiac arrest. Her coworkers performed CPR until first responders showed up and hooked her up to an Automated Emergency Defibrillator and shocked her twice to get her back into a sinus rhythm.

After what seemed like an eternity of waiting in the ER, we learned that Matti had been in vfib (the most deadly heart rhythm). She was intubated and placed on a ventilator. Cath Lab showed that she had a 90% blockage in her LAD. She spent a week in the ICU.

She is now home but wearing a life vest for 3 months before they decide if a pacemaker is needed.

Because she is in heart failure, she has begun cardiac rehab to strengthen her heart due to the damage that was done.

She is unable to work or do day to day activities for more than a little bit at a time.

This life altering event has placed an incredible financial burden on her and her family and anything that you can donate will directly help them navigate this incredibly scary and difficult road to recovery!

As a nurse she has always taken such good care of everyone, let's take care of her!!!
