Support Mattie Grace's Education Journey

Hi, my name is Mattie Grace Atkinson and I’m fundraising for college. I plan on attending Northwest Mississippi Community College as a sophomore majoring in Criminal Justice and cheerleading. Along with that, I’m working four minimum wage jobs in an attempt to pay for expenses. Here’s a little bit about the situation I’m in… Currently, I’m financially on my own when it comes to my education. I attended the University of Memphis last year as a freshman. It was in state and somewhat affordable for the one parent willing to pay for me to further my education. However, that was only the case for a year, and I chose to attend a community college to help lighten the monetary burden. Sadly, after lots of discussion and even receiving the “go ahead,” neither parent is willing to pay for tuition or textbooks, leaving me on my own. I have received an academic and athletic scholarship, but it doesn’t cover everything. I have a passion for learning and want to set myself up for success in the future, so I’d prefer to not be forced into taking a gap year.
