My name is Matthew Caliboso, and I am a student at Coral Academy of Science Sandy Ridge in Henderson, Nevada. I have been recognized as the winner of Congresswoman Dina Titus' 2025 App Challenge for my app, TechMate: an AI-powered tech support, scam detection, and AI education app targeted toward the older generation. This prestigious award recognizes my passion and excellence in coding, and it has given me the chance to participate in the #HouseOfCode winners event in Washington, D.C., on April 21-22th. I am seeking your support to help me take advantage of this amazing opportunity.
This event is part of the Congressional App Challenge, a nationwide coding initiative where each U.S. House representative hosts a district-wide contest for middle and high school students, encouraging them to explore their passion for coding and STEM education. This is a unique opportunity for me to network with industry leaders, showcase my skills, and learn from other talented students.
To make this trip possible, I am raising funds to cover my travel, hotel, meals, and transportation costs. The breakdown of the expenses is as follows: Plane Flights+Uber/Lyft - $700, Hotel Costs - $700, Meals/Incidentals - $150.
The Congressional App Challenge aims to inspire students to pursue a passion for STEM through local competitions hosted by Congress, and it has reached underserved, diverse, and rural student populations. Your support would mean the world to me and help develop the next generation of coders and STEM professionals.
I am excited to share my experience with my community and to inspire others to explore their passion for coding. Any help that you could provide would be greatly appreciated, and I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Please feel free to share my fundraiser with your friends and family as well.
Thank you for considering my request.
Best regards,
Matthew
